Things To Do in Bedford
Well, you have come to the right place! You will be amazed exactly how much there is to see and do in the county of Bedfordshire with its diverse landscape, history, culture and interesting towns and villages, many boasting the original buildings, giving the entire place a special charm.
Bedfordshire is the best location for a day excursion, particularly from the neighbouring areas of London, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire. Many of Bedford’s top attractions are only an hour or so from the centre of London, providing you the chance to escape the city for a couple of hours and enjoy the rolling countryside and slower pace of life which Bedfordshire provides. There is so much to do, you’ll wish you were staying longer, so be sure to make a list of all the places you want to see, so you can prioritise or plan a longer trip next time to fit everything in!
If your idea of bliss is peace and quiet, then you’ll love the unspoilt countryside, quaint market towns, beautifully manicured gardens and also the chance to pamper yourself in one of the many spas and leisure centers you can find in the area. Those who would rather retail therapy while in the area won’t be disappointed, you’ll discover everything from high street chains, independent stores and large department stores. A number of the market cities, such as Dunstable, Woburn and Bedford have broad and varied high streets with plenty to buy and browse, in addition to regular markets where you’ll be able to pick up local produce and things made by locally established artists.
